Chapter 8 – Publishing Presentations

• Different: The update will only be applied if the version of the .bsfw update file does not match the

current firmware version of the player. The file is not deleted after the update process is completed.

• Newer: The update will not be applied if the current firmware version of the player is newer than the

version of the update file. The file is not deleted after the update process is completed.

• Save: The .bsfw update file is not deleted after the update is applied. The device will only reboot once

the storage device containing the update file is removed.

5. Publish the presentation:

a. Under Simple File Networking Parameters, click Set Parameters.

b. Under Unit Configuration:

• URL for web folder: Type the URL for your web folder. This

must match the URL you entered when setting up your

device for Simple File Networking.

• Content Check Frequency: Use the dropdown list to specify

how often you want the player to connect to the server to

check for content and scheduling updates.

• (Optional) Simple File Networking Authentication: Enables

digest authentication between the BrightSign player and the

web server.

• (Optional) Enable basic authentication: Passes credentials

to the web server in unsecured packets that are easily

readable by others. Use this option only if it is absolutely

required by the configuration of your web server.

• (Optional) Limit content downloads: Check this box and use

the dropdown lists beside Start of range and End of range

to specify the times during the day when content can be

downloaded.

c. (Optional) Under Logging, check any of the following boxes to

enable the corresponding logs:
